……香港詩人、學者陳智德在《地文誌:追憶香港地方與文學》一書裡,從啟德機場的停用開始,回顧歷史脈絡,描繪今日香港的現狀。「香港反覆被稱甚至自稱為『文化沙漠』,彷彿樂此不疲」,殊不知有《中國學生周報》、《70年代雙週刊》、《盤古》、《大拇指》、《詩風》、《突破》、《素葉文學》等等幾代人創建的文化刊物,像旺角的書店就是不可抹滅的閱讀記憶:「至今日為止,旺角仍是九龍地區的書店集中地,多家樓上書店密集地分布在旺角的心臟地域──西洋菜街及奶路臣街一帶,且有它歷史的痕跡:已消失或已搬遷的包括南山、五車、洪葉、文星、東岸、貽善堂、實用、復興、精神、學峰、紫羅蘭;仍健在的有田園、新亞、樂文、學津,這四家書店至少經營了二、三十年,都是我中學時代就開始流連的所在。」

《地文誌:追憶香港地方與文學》糅合了不同的文類,例如地方紀事、掌故拾遺、成長回憶、文學談片,同時穿插個人及他人的詩作。全書共分兩卷,【上卷】「破卻陸沉」──以文學為樞紐,編列地區為經緯,旁及述說、引用、評論多位香港前輩和同代作者的香港城市故事、經驗描寫,和自己的地方生活體驗互為闡發。【下卷】「藝文叢談」則以書與城為主調:香港的老書店、二樓書店、文藝刊物,讀者彷彿進入時光隧道,在終年不散的灰塵和霉味中,那些被遺忘的書店、文藝刊物和它們承載的傳統,以及書店老闆、文化人,陳智德以文字為他/它們留下動人的記憶。

陳智德在《地文誌:追憶香港地方與文學》裡,範疇橫跨文學、歷史、音樂,結合史料、詩作與圖片;他大膽提問:當許多人視「本土」──尤其是「香港的本土」為一種「狹窄」的題材時,又對香港的歷史、香港的文學有多少認識?這是對地方書寫的提醒,也戳破人們慣常的歷史觀,為香港的身世補充了最重要的文化篇章。
