Learn how to make real, lasting changes in your life
We all have bad habits - whether it's a weakness for junk food, a smartphone addiction or a lack of exercise. But change is hard. Forty percent of dieters quit within a week. Eighty percent of New Year's resolutions don't last beyond January. How can we kick bad habits - and stick with it?
According to psychologist and behaviour researcher Dr Sean Young, the answer is to stop trying to change the person, and instead change the process. In Stick With It, Dr Young draws on his own research and that of other leading experts to explain how the mind often interferes with breaking bad habits, and how we can outsmart it, increasing the likelihood of lasting change by 200%.
Packed with practical exercises and real-life case studies, Stick With It shows that it is possible to control spending, stick to a diet, exercise regularly and overcome problem behaviours - forever.

Whether you are just starting out or are reinventing yourself, Larry Smith will show you how to turn what you love into what you do
For the past three decades, Professor Larry Smith has become something of a “career whisperer” for his students at the University of Waterloo. His guidance has helped steer more than twenty-five thousand students to careers they love at companies like Facebook, Amazon, Tesla and Google, to name just a few. But most of us are left to figure out one of the biggest decisions of our lives on our own. Each year, millions of talented college and university students graduate with little or no real sense of what their next step will be. And shifting economies and life circumstances often send us down the wrong career path, or down one that isn’t a perfect fit for our skills and personalities—even if we are often unaware of it. But it is possible—even if you already have a foothold in a career—to make changes that will result in renewed passion and success that is greater than anything you’ve ever imagined.
With his straightforward, no-nonsense approach, Smith itemizes and dismisses all the usual excuses, fears and worries that people hide behind when trying to find their true direction. He shows how it is possible to change course and get on the right path. It won’t necessarily be easy, but if you follow Smith’s guidance, your career dreams can come true.

看到朋友在臉書曬幸福照,你突然覺得心情低落,就把他封鎖了;
最討厭突然插隊超車的駕駛,總想按喇叭來表達不滿;
上台報告後,覺得台風不夠穩健的自己好糟糕,變得好沮喪;

Resilience: The Science of Mastering Life's Greatest Challenges

Most of us at some point in our lives will be struck by major traumas such as the sudden death of a loved one, a debilitating disease, assault, or a natural disaster. Resilience refers to the ability to 'bounce back' after encountering difficulty. This book provides a guide to building emotional, mental and physical resilience by presenting ten factors to help anyone become more resilient to life's challenges. Specific resilience factors such as facing fear, optimism, and social support are described through the experiences and personal reflections of highly resilient survivors. These survivors also describe real-life methods for practicing and benefiting from the resilience factors. As resilience is the complex product of genetic, psychological, biological, social, and spiritual factors, the authors investigate resilience from multiple scientific perspectives. They synthesize the latest literature on the topic, describe their own research on resilience, and quote from their interviews with highly resilient people.
